Happy Nowruz !!!
This year, Nowruz 2014 was on March 20th 9:57am PST. We all took the morning off of work and went to my parents house to do the official countdown!
What is Persian New Year?
Nowruz marks the first day of spring or Equinox and the beginning of the year in the Persian calendar. Nowruz is partly rooted in the religious tradition of Zoroastrianism. Among other ideas, Zoroastrianism is the first monotheistic religion that emphasizes broad concepts such as the corresponding work of good and evil in the world, and the connection of humans to nature. Zoroastrian practices were dominant for much of the history of ancient Persia. Nowruz is believed to have been invented by Zoroaster himself.

Some more fun videos of Emerson!
Here is a video of E singing to Hey Good Looking. He is really proud of his performance and made sure he bowed not just once but 3 times!
This is an old video from Emerson's school's Christmas performance. I guess they had the routine down before the actual performance. At least E is jumping and dancing? Right? Emerson is wearing his blue sweater, red pants, and a Santa hat.
